Add butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla to large bowl. Start low, then cream on high until pale and fluffy, 3-5 minutes. Add flour, ground pecans, and salt. Mix until combined.

Chill dough in fridge for 30-60 minutes.

Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough. Roll into balls and set on baking sheet. Bake until pale golden, 18-22 minutes.
