Preheat oven to 425°.

Measurements

Trim away ends from onion and peel. Carefully grate on large holes of box grater. Add to large bowl.

Add bread crumbs, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper to onion. Stir well.

Add ground beef. Mix with your hands to combine.

Place meat in baking pan. Pat meat in an even layer, pressing up to edges of the pan. Wash hands thoroughly.

Bake until browned and cooked through, 14-18 minutes.

Cover meat with slices of cheese. Return to oven and bake until melted, 2-3 minutes.

Keeping rolls connected, carefully use a serrated knife to cut rolls in half lengthwise.

Remove top from rolls and set aside.

With help from an adult, lift meat patty on top of the bottom buns.

Squeeze 12 evenly spaced dabs of ketchup on the meat. Top with 12 pickle slices.
